The Agricultural Olive Cooperative of Zakros (AES Zakros) was founded in 1936 and is based in Zakros. Implements a model of quality agricultural production with the support of science, which utilizes the fruits without harming the environment. The result of modern olive growing is the production of olive oil PDO Sitia Lassithi Crete under the name "ZAKROS". It has modern facilities as a result of the continuous effort for development and modernization at all levels. In order to strengthen and highlight all the above characteristics, it proceeded to the establishment and recognition of a Producers Organization (OP) in the olive oil and table olive sector.
